You Have to Let Go
Free your mind and your soul
Let what’s inside you flow
Get down off your high horse
And find the force that provides the voice
for your power to be felt,
not the bull**** to be smelt.
I
came up with this recently while thinking about what I’m trying to
accomplish in this crazy game of golf, and even more so, the game of life.
If you want to play this game at the highest level, you have to let go. You
can’t make excuses why things aren’t going your way. I’ve always believed I
could play this game, but because I haven't obtained the level of success I
want, I had to find a way to make myself feel better at times. I found
myself thinking that if I didn’t put forth the work required to reach my
goal, it would make it easy to fail or blame others for my short-comings
But I
realized to fail is easy; it requires no responsibility. If you're
struggling with this problem, do what I did: Find the coward who runs around
in your heart and mind and give his ass a one-way ticket.
It
doesn’t matter whether you're a golfer or business person, you have to stand
up and shout to the world what you want for your life -- and just maybe someone will hear you. Some of the best lessons I’ve learned in my life have come
from folks who don’t care about what people think or don’t buy into the
tricks the mind tries to play when we're on the verge of accomplishment.
So
get out of your grave and find a way to make a difference in the way you
live your life. If you truly can look in the mirror and like what you see
and believe it, so will the rest of the world.
