What makes the game of golf so great is how many forms it takes both on and off the golf course. Just as there are endless golf swings to choose from, there are inexhaustible opinions about the game — how to play it, why so-and-so isn’t winning, what players are wearing, what clubs they’re playing, who’s the best. And no matter folks’ opinions or who they think will win the next big tournament, mostly what they’re saying to themselves is, “Man, wouldn’t it be awesome to be a player.”
The game of golf is a catalyst for conversation. Whether you’re a novice or expert in the game doesn’t matter. Golf gets people talking; it gets them thinking. That said, I plan to use this column as a platform for my views on the game, its politics, its players, its issues, and its character. Maybe my perspectives on the game of golf and life will make a difference in the way you live, how you see the world, how you play the game. And I want to learn from you.
We all have a role to play in the world. Mine is to talk, to listen … and play golf. So visit this page often to hear me sound off on a variety of golf and other issues. And remember, this is just my two cents’ worth.
